A new BBQ for summer
I’m thinking of investing in a Cobb BBQ this year and was wondering if anyone here has got any experience / views on them.
I know a lot of people use a CADAC but I fancy the Cobb because its portable so it can be used on picnics, on the beach etc, a also prefer the taste of food cooked on a charcoal BBQ, from reading up on them you can also use them to smoke food, and if you use their fuel bricks they are ready for use in 4 or 5 minuets.

Yes it does sit on the ground and I’m told the base stays cool enough to move about when cooking, so it wont damage the grass, which is a big plus.

My daughter has a South African friend who swears by her Cobb BBQ.........but come to that she swears by any BBQ and anything ese for that matter. But seriously she thinks they are good for two people.
We bought a small Weber kettle BBQ which weighs about 5kg and it does not fold up but stows in the loo or under the bed when travelling. We moved back to charcoal as we felt if we really needed a quick meal because it may be a bit cool outside, then it was'nt appropriate to have a BBQ. as a proper BBQ should be a slow meal enjoyed with wine or beer when sitting outside. Anything else and there is the van's cooker or pubs.

We would like a small kettle type that is easy to store in the caravan. Biggest problem with them as I have never seen one with folding legs!
Does the Cobb sit on the ground and if it does surely it would burn the grass otherwsie looks a great buy if you have a spare £100!.
