I have been towing an 1800kg caravan with an RX400h for a couple of years now. As far as fuel consumption is concerned, one does not benefit from the advantages of hybrid drive when towing, only when solo. It is a very nice and, for its size and weight, an economical car to drive solo, but relatively thirsty when towing. A minor criticism that I have is that the steering is a bit torque sensitive. When accelerating heavily under load, the car tends to pull to one side and you need to steer against it. Otherwise, it's a great car and very reliable.
