I'm going to remove and then refix the aluminium extrusion on a friends aged Bailey caravan as it needs resealing.

Can anybody advise on a QUALITY gun application sealant?  I'm not convinced that the sealant strip is any good. I would prefer to get messy with the mastic gun and make sure it's a once and for all time fix.

We use Sikaflex - and have resealed various places with it, without any subsequent problems.

The best adhesive to use is either Soudall Fixall, or Sikaflex 512, or Soudall RV61

Make sure you remove all the old sealant from the van and rail or you will be wasting your time

And make sure you secure the awning rail with new stainless steel screws one size bigger diameter than the originals but the same length.

Ta very much.

I'm a Sikflex fan. Great products, I've mainly used 221 and marine type. My wholesaler can get it in.
Stainless, always, size larger screw makes sense.
Just need to make some space in my garage so I can do it in the warm and dry Laughing
