Does anyone have info on a Hyundai ix 35 BHP 134 as a towcar. I have an Avondale Dart 470/2 MPW 1140 kg. Any info on this vehicle would be much appreciated.

Thanks Sprocket, I have looked at the spec, I was thinking of the 2.0 CRDi and I hope someone who has this model could give me thier thoughts as a towcar for a similar van to mine

I would look at another towcar.

What car tested the 1.7 diesel in the towing tests in last august mag.

They only gave it 3 stars.

The nose limit for the 1.7 is only 75kg.

And a tow limit of 1300kg.

I realise the 2L stats may be higher, but the car was reported to wander in side winds when towing.

It may pay to have a look at the Honest John Site, they have a write up about them, and praise them very highly,I would be very cautious about the towing reviews and are best taken with a pinch of salt, they have nothing to do with the real towing world.

I agree you cant look at too many sources, and i look on the HJ forum myself.

But HJ simply gives his opinion on the car to drive, not while towing.

So its a good car, i presume from your post.

But lots of good cars don't make good tow cars, which is why i also try to read caravan mag tow tests.
