IT SOMETIMES FEELS that the Lexon is the forgotten piece in the Lunar jigsaw but it’s had a lot of changes for 2012.

There are two deletions, two new models and three heavily revised ones meaning that only the recently launched 550 has escaped radical reworking. The large family models 570 and 640 are gone, meaning all Lexons are single-axles for this year.

The new models are the 420 and 520. The former is a new, short end-washroom two berth which bucks the trend of this layout stretching over recent years. The 520 is a unique model which puts a rear washroom and a nearside side-dinette together for the first time.

The Stellar, which has been included in the Lexon range for the last few seasons, has retained an L-shaped rear-kitchen, but moved it to the nearside. This means it has got an improved offside washroom. The 530 and 540 have been mildly tweaked to make better use of the interior space.

Range wide changes include LED lighting throughout, redesigned kitchen lockers, Antrhacite-coloured fridges and a new black sink. Outside, new graphics and a redesigned rear panel complete the major improvements.

Practical Caravan Verdict

Rarely the sexiest Lunar range, but Lexon looks set for a successful 2012.
