SMOKE ALARMS
Kidde 10Y29 smoke alarm
Optical smoke alarms use an infrared LED to check for smoke particles. This compact model has a 10-year sealed long-life lithium battery and is fitted with a hush button to silence false alarms. It measures 45 x 104mm and has a ‘low volume’ test function that makes the alarm less obtrusive.

Kidde 10LLCO carbon monoxide alarm
This carbon monoxide alarm features a 10-year sealed-in lithium battery and has a 10-year manufacturer’s warranty. LEDs indicate the status of the alarm, which signals when it is due for replacement.
The unit uses a water-based electrochemical sensor to detect carbon monoxide and has a test/reset button for easy testing.
YOU SHOULD KNOW…In case of emergency the most important rule when it comes to fire safety in a caravan is to get everyone out as quickly as possible. We have included a range of extinguishers here to show what’s on the market, but it’s worth noting that the Caravan and Motorhome Club recommends installing a 1kg aqueous film forming foam (AFFF) device manufactured and tested in accordance with BS EN 3 and with at least a 5A rating. Please note that Practical Caravan has not tested these products and you should follow manufacturer’s advice to choose the products most suited to your outfit. |
