The Caravan and Motorhome Club (CAMC) has announced it has purchased Sherwood Caravan Storage.

The purchase has come at a time when many van owners will be reaching for the best caravan cover and putting their tourers into storage over the winter months. It also represents the first storage-only site to be owned by the CAMC and will offer 1,150 spaces on a hardstanding surface, spread over its 15 acres.

Having been used as a storage site for 20 years, Sherwood Caravan Storage offers the reassurance of being a Gold-rated Caravan Storage Site Owners’ Association site (CaSSOA). It will be well placed for caravanners who live around Leeds, Sheffield, and Nottingham.

The site provides 24-hour access, with electronic access and alarm systems, while more than 30 CCTV 4K motion detection cameras are in use; additional features include anti-cut fencing with a razor wire topping and stock fencing, while staff are also to hand during site office hours.

It’s not just caravan security that the storage facility can help with either. It also provides a chargeable tyre compressor and a jet wash, ideal for helping you when you’re cleaning a caravan or tow car.

Harvey Alexander, Director of Marketing and Membership Services at the Caravan and Motorhome Club, said, “We’re very happy to welcome Sherwood Caravan and Motorhome Club Storage to our network. This site offers people a secure and convenient option for storing their leisure vehicles, with excellent access to major routes and top-notch facilities. We know that our members love exploring the great outdoors and Sherwood Caravan and Motorhome Club Storage will enable them to store and easily access their vehicles so they can head off on their next adventure.”

If you’re looking for ways to keep your van safe during the off-season, ensuring you have the right gadgets fitted can also play a big part. Investing in accessories such as the best caravan hitchlock and the best caravan wheel lock can provide you with bright visual deterrents and secure fittings to help protect your van and deter potential thieves.
