When we can travel more freely are you setting your sights on somewhere new to explore? Turkey is proposing to be a more caravan-friendly destination with plans for a caravan park project in the Black Sea province of Trabzon in the North East.
The two-year project is planned over a five-acre area and will include the supply of water and electricity, washroom facilities, picnic and walking areas. If successful the project will be rolled out to 34 other provinces with a tourism infrastructure to support it. The aim of the project is to put Turkey on the touring map of the 6 million caravan owners in Europe and is seen as a viable holiday alternative to luxury hotels in the new world of Covid-19.
Trabzon was an important stop on the ancient Silk Road and Venetian and Persian trading routes.
